Big Bone Lick State Park is located Boone County, Kentucky. The name is derived from the prehistoric fossils found there beginning in the early 19th century. Ancient animals used to graze the area’s vegitaion and salt deposits. The park likes to call itself the “birthplace of American paleontology.”
